As I See It - World 2

This page has been set up to comment on world affairs, notably those influenced by POTUS Donald Trump.

It covers the situation in GAZA.

Also refers to the ongoing situation in Ukraine.

Donald Trump has finally lost patience with Vladimir Putin. Will "Vlad the Invader" listen?

He had a "deadline" for Putin to ceasefire. Did he? He has announced that he will meet with Putin, (but not with Zelensky present). This is to be in Alaska, which USA bought from Russia!

Sir Keir Starmer has finally decided, after an emergency Cabinet Meeting, to make a well reasoned move on the totally unacceptable position of the Israeli government on Gaza and the West Bank.

Canadian leader Carney has also taken the same approach.

It is NOT an acceptable policy by Netanyahu and the Israeli right wing to, in effect, evict the population from Gaza or the West Bank. That is exactly the same as what the Hamas slogan "from the river to the sea Palestine shall be free" means. BOTH policies are wrong.

Now Israel has adopted the evacuation of Gaza City plan, Germany is to stop arms shipments of anything that might be used. Australia is also intending to recognise Palestine at the UN.

This is what I have posted on the Starmer announcement on 29th July 2025 which has been condemned by Benjamin Netanyahu out of hand.

Meanwhile in Gaza Israel is flattening all domestic buildings in much of Gaza, which is a war crime. They are not allowing press into the enclave but BBC has seen the results of Israeli action from the Jordanian aid drops.

Telling him (Netanyahu) that UK will recognise Palestine state. To stop the attacks in Gaza and get aid in there, Also to STOP annexation of more of the West bank.

Starmer also wants Hamas to withdraw from government, disarm and drop the "From the river to the sea ..." demand.

In other words, Israel has to drop the elimination of the Palestinian areas (The west Bank authority recognises Israel) and Hamas has to recognise Israel.

It is NOT "Rewarding Hamas"

Israel has now killed 5 Al Jazeerah journalists claiming they were terrorists.

What Israel has repeatedly done in the West Bank is to flout UN resolutions by building and enlarging settelements, displacing by force the Palestinians who have undeniable historic rights to live there. Effectively it is ethnic cleansing and a land grab. That is what they are planning in Gaza by destroying the remains of houses etc in much of the area. It is no wonder that groups such as Hamas have fought against this, aided by IRAN all the time. Their barbaric incursion into Israel was an atrocity, but the response and the terrible death toll inflicted on Gaza is totally out of proportion. A huge explosive device in a crowded area is NOT a "precision weapon" in terms of who it kills.

What Hamas should do.

Personally, I feel that Hamas should release the hostages now and do what the Arab nations are suggesting. That should remove the need for the destruction of the remainder of Gaza City and the deaths of more thousands which will result if Israel attacks it.

Arab nations have taken the unprecedented step of telling Hamas to lay down its arms and surrender control of Gaza.

Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Egypt called for the terrorist group to “disarm” and disband. It is the first time these countries have condemned Hamas and demanded it play no part in the future of Palestine.

Those in the UK who are demonstrating in favour of "Palestinian Action" should NOT ignore the FACT that it was HAMAS who triggered the current situation and are REFUSING to release the hostages. If they did that, there is at least a chance to avoid the inevitable destruction of the rest of Gaza city and the deaths of thousands more innocents if Netanyahu continues with his equally insane "destroy Hamas" policy decision.

Vladimir Putin has broken International Law in my opinion by "recognising" two parts of Ukraine where he has been supporting who are basically insurgents fighting against the legitimate forces of a separate country. His "peacekeeping" claims are spurious and will be shown to be if his troops begin to expand the areas held by his separatist stooges to the borders of the two regions he claims to have "recognised".

Alleged NATO threat.

His claims that NATO was forcing the issue and a threat to Russian security is also at least questionable. Ex Soviet countries have opted to join NATO partly because of the way Russia has behaved in the past. Putin has demonstrably been behaving in the same way.

"Special military operation". What a load of rubbish. It's war Putin. Withdraw your war machine now.

You are bombing civilians and non military areas. Even the Babi Yar memorial.
